Harmonic Heart (Chapter 16)

Chapter 16 -Regretable Decisions-

'Right... I was in bed wounded before Lucifer, Death and my teammates went away to kill Adam. May Hell burn his soul and suffer from whatever punishment my family gives down there,' I though to myself as I stand up and started to walk out of my room.

I made my way to the outskirts of Beacon, and started just wondered around. I didn't care if professor Goodwitch saw me when it's past curfew, she and Ozpin are aware of what I am now, and think of it as a break from my training of some kind. But this time, it really is a break. I just came from a special training with my father, and... it was tough to say the least. 

I open the palm of my hand and started to concentrate. Moments later, a ball of fire appeared in my hand, but it's a weak flame and flickering.

“Still need to work on that,” I said to myself, extinguishing the flame by closing my hand.

My train of though got interrupted by the sound of someone running for their life. I look around the outskirts, and saw a certain figure running out of Forever Falls.

“Blake?” I asked out loud.

Moments later, she fell to the ground and she lay there for a moment. I got worried and quickly made my way towards her. Once I reached her side, I saw that she was breathing heavily and her eyes closed.

“Blake? Are you alright?” I asked in a worried tone.

The moment she heard my voice, her eyes shot open and looked towards me.

“(F-f-f/n)!?” she asked in a shocked voice.

“Yes, Blake. It's me. Don't worry, you're safe,” I said, trying to calm her down.

Seconds later, she fell unconscious and I let out a sigh, feeling slightly irritated. I gently lifted her up bridal style, and quickly made my way towards a spare room that Ozpin gave me that was at the edge of the Emerald Forest. I used my wings and flew up into the sky, getting faster to my destination. Once in view, I  saw the simple wooden hut that Ozpin provided me, it's nothing too fancy. I opened the door and put her down on bed and pulled a chair next to her.

“I guess I can try the other trick that my father taught me. It won't do any harm to her,” I said to myself as I lifted my hand up and put it on top of hers.

I started to take a few deep breaths as I guided energy towards her. A gentle glow started to generate under the palm of my hand as a bit of energy left my body. Moments later, Blake started to wake up.

“(F/n)? Where am I?” Blake asked.

“Stay calm, Blake. You need time to recover. You were exhausted when I found you,” I explained to her.

A moment of silence started to fill the room as we avoided eye contact.

“I'm... sorry,” Blake whispered.

“What?” I asked her.

“I'm sorry, (F/n), for... attacking you,” she said in a said tone.

“It's... alright. But, I do want to ask something to you,” I said in a serious tone.

I saw Blake's ears folding flat on her head and her eyes filled with worry and fear.

“Blake... why did you do it? Why didn't you tell me you were being blackmailed?” I asked.

She stayed silent for a moment, and tears started to form in her eyes. Before I knew it, she jumped out of the bed and hugged me for dear life. 

“I'm sorry! I'm so, so sorry!” she cried as she buries her face against my chest.

“Blake, if you said anything to me I would've helped you in a heartbeat. Hell, even your team and Ozpin would've helped you,” I said, petting her hair.

“NO! He would kill everyone that comes in his way!” she said in a desperate manner. 

Suddenly, I got a message on my Scroll. I pulled it out and saw a message from Rogue and I was surprised to see that it was only an image of Adam Taurus' head.

“You should have more faith in your team, like I have in mine,” I said, showing her the picture.

She turned pale when she saw the picture.

“B-but... How!?” she asked, shocked to see that he's dead.

“I have a few friends before I cane to Beacon, I'm sure that you met on of them. She was wearing my mask,” I explained, my voice turning into a serious one.

She went completely silent again.

“*Sigh* Blake, why didn't you say anything?” I asked.

“I... I... I can't help it!” she said, bursting into tears again.

I lean forward and started to pet her head, trying to calm her down.

“Blake... think it's the best if we should spend some time apart from each other,” I said to her, with a hint of sadness.

“(F/n)! I'm sorry! Please, forgive me!” she said, hugging me for dear life.

“I already did, Blake. I just think that it's for the best that if spend some time apart. But, I'm always here for you if you need me, alright?” I said to her, trying to cheer her up.

She continued crying against my chest while I petted her head. After some time, she fell asleep still clinging against me.

“*Sigh* I really enjoyed the time we had together, kitten. Just remember that I'm always by your side, no matter what,” I whispered to her, closing my eyes and fall asleep.

-The next morning-

I woke up extra early to bring Blake to her dorm through the window. It was easier with wings to say the least. Once I was done, I fly towards the cliff side, hide my wings and try to calm my emotions down. After some time, I felt another person near me. I turn around and saw Lucifer and Death.

“Hey brother, are you okay?” Lucifer asked in a worried manner.

“Yeah, I'll be okay,” I responded.

“Here's your mask, by the way. Rogue is... quite a dangerous person,” she said, handing my mask back.

“Thank you, and I'm not surprised. I saw the photo he sent me,” I said to her.

“Master Phoenix, I something for you,” Death said, handing me a sheathed Katana.

“Thank you? I'm not sure what I should do with this though,” I said, putting the katana away.

“Brother, will you be alright for a while?” Lucifer asked.

“Yeah. Don't worry about me,” I said with a reassuring smile.

“Alright then. We'll see you soon,” she said disappearing up in flames.

I let out a sigh, as I look over the horizon. 

“With how things are going, I think I'm better off back at Mountain Glenn,” I said out loud.

“Don't say that, (F/n)!” said a female voice behind me, accompanied by the sound of running.

'Oh boy,' I though as I embraced myself for impact.

Seconds later, I got tackled to the ground by non other than Ruby Rose.

“Ruby, ever consider cutting down on the amount of cookies you're eating? Also, what are you doing up at this hour?” I asked.

“I woke up when you brought Blake back to our dorm and saw you jump out of the window. I came to check on you, but then I heard you considering going back to Mountain Glenn! Please, don't leave us!” she practically begged.

“Ruby, calm down. I'm just going through a rough time,” I explained.

“What happened?” Ruby asked in a worried tone.

“Don't worry about it, Rubs. I just need some time to think. Nothing too grave,” I told her.

'At least, not that she needs to worry about,' I though.

“It's... about Blake, isn't it?” she asked in a worried tone.

“Is it that obvious?” I asked her.

“Not really, but Blake had tear stains on her cheeks, so I though it had something to do with you,” she explained.

“Please, let's not talk about this. All I need is some time for myself and release some steam,” I explained to her.

“If you say so. I'll see you later then, (F/n),” she said in a disappointed manner.

“I'll see ya around, Ruby,” I said to her, standing up and dusting my cloths off.

She stood up and start to walk back to her dorm. I look up and started to contemplate something.

'I'm starting to think that you got something to do with all of this, father. I just hope that you got nothing to do with this,' I thought, letting out another sight of frustration.
