Literature Text

We walk in into a room, only to find Kaichi again, and it looks like he has some information for us.

“The library's motion sensors are picking up movement below your location. Please, be careful,” he said.

We look at each other and we pulled out our weapons.

“Are you prepared, Leinari?” I asked, as I tighten my grip on my spear.
“You bet I am, Heath,” said Leinari, loading her guns.

We silently walk down the stairs and sure enough, we could hear someone talking nearby.

“Worried. Did you heard what our boss said?”
“No. What iss it?”
“Explain. According to her, we got two intruders coming down here,”
“Nice! Floran was getting bored, anyway,”

I nodded to Leinari, signaling that I was prepared to attack and she nodded me back. We jumped down the stairs and I used the secondary function of my spear, barrier, to create an Ice wall to protect ourselves.

“There they are!” said one of the fighters, dressed in the same cult uniform that we saw in the past.
“Hostile. Prepare to die!” said the other cult.

I made the ice wall bigger for Leinari as I jumped over it and started attacking one of them with my spear. Both of them started shooting at me, but I barely managed to dodge the bullets. Once I was close enough to one of them, I quickly pulled out one of my daggers and tried to stab him, only to find out that it's the Glitch one. He was about to hit me with my own dagger, until I heard two shots from behind me. The glitch in front of me fell to the floor with a loud metallic thud and the floran soon following him.

“Being ssskilled with range weaponsss hasss it'sss perksss, don't you think?” asked Leinari, taunting you a bit.
“I'm not going to lie that you've sssaved more than once, that'sss for sssure,” I said, chuckling a little bit.
“Heath, look up there! There'sss a ssswitch up there,” said Leinari, pointing to the switch above the tallest bookcase.
“Okay, let'sss sssee I'll get up there,” I said looking around.

I noticed that the bookcases formed some sort of staircase, so I decided to climb up on the smallest bookcase and from there to make my way to the switch. Once I activated it, the hatch opened, revealing another set of stairs that leads further down the library and into darkness.

“Let'sss move on. Before any more of those cultsss come by,” said Leinari, taking the lead down.
“Good idea,” I said, following her.

As we reach the bottom, the were piles of books scattered around and bookcases broken to pieces.

“And I though that animalsss were wild, but thisss cult hasss no ressspect,” said Leinari, looking around the library.
“Apperently they want that artifact even more than we do. That alone isss bad newsss in it of itssself,” I said, looking for the exit.
“That'sss true,” said Leinari.
“Look, Kaichi isss waiting for usss,” I said, walking into the next room.

We approached him and listened what he has to say this time.

“The room ahead is flooded... I had to swim through. I think you're going to have to do the same,” said Kaichi, disappearing soon after the message.
“Oh, great. We're going ssswimming again,” I said.
“It won't be that bad,” said Leinari, walking to the blocked off hallway.
“Breathing EPP ready?” I asked.
“Yep. You too?” she asked.
“Ready to go,” I said with a grin on my face.

Leinari nodded and pushed the button. Water quickly rushed in the tunnel and, thank the stars, the Breathing EPP activated as fast as possible. Once the streams of the water has settled, we started to swim out the tunnel and into the room at the end of the hallway. The room has books all over the place. Between floatting at the ceiling and on the floor, covered in sand and corals that were pulled in.

I pulled out my flashlight and searched for an exit in this room, and Leinari did the same. Much to our surprise, the exit for this was at the ceiling. We swim upwards and climb out of the water.

“I'm ssslowly getting tired of all thisss water,” I said out loud.
“Just hold a little longer, my tulip. Once we're done with thisss artifact, we'll be away from the deep watersss for a while,” she said, trying to cheer me.
“Thanksss, Leinari,” I said with a chuckle.

We stand up and continue with our journey.

“Heath, look,” said Leinari, pointing towards Kaichi in the distance.

We approached the hologram, but I noticed that Kaichi was looking uneasy.

“I'm afraid this is the last holographic display. Be careful, I hope to see you soon!” said Kaichi.
“You will. You can bet on that,” I said.
“Thank you two, I wish you two the best of luck,” he said, disappearing again one final time.

Here's chapter 32. Hope you'll enjoy it!
